A somber atmosphere has descended upon Eruku town in Kwara State’s Ekiti Local Government Area after terrorists launched a deadly attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) branch, claiming the lives of three worshippers and abducting several others, including the pastor. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, leaving residents in a state of panic and confusion.

According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists stormed the church during a meeting, opening fire on the congregation and sending worshippers scrambling for safety. Three members were killed instantly, while others were taken captive and marched into the bush at gunpoint. The attackers reportedly escaped through bush paths connecting Eruku to neighboring communities

A traveller who narrowly escaped the attack described the scene as chaotic, with people fleeing into the bush and vehicles abandoned on the road. The traveller pleaded for security intervention, citing the need for urgent help to prevent further bloodshed
