Nigeria’s Ambitious CNG Plan: 500 Stations, Cleaner Energy
Nigeria is taking a significant step towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future with a new partnership aimed at deploying 500 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) refuelling stations across the country.
The initiative includes:
CNG Refuelling Stations :Strategically located in all states to increase access to CNG and reduce reliance on petrol and diesel.
LCNG Gas Supply Infrastructure :Development of this infrastructure will enable the efficient supply of CNG to refuelling stations.
CNG and LNG Transportation Trucks: A fleet of trucks with truck-mounted cascades will form a virtual pipeline, ensuring uninterrupted supply of CNG and LNG nationwide.
Reduced Congestion : Expanded access to refuelling points will eliminate long queues at existing CNG stations.
Increased Efficiency: Improved logistics will ensure a steady supply of CNG, promoting its adoption as a cleaner alternative to petrol and diesel.
Environmental Benefits:Widespread adoption of CNG will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to a cleaner environment.
This initiative is a key part of the government’s efforts to promote gas as a more affordable alternative to petrol and diesel. With a focus on sustainability and energy security, Nigeria is poised to reap the benefits of its CNG revolution.
