President Tinubu Re-Appoints Buba Marwa as NDLEA Chairman

In a significant move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed the appointment of Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd) as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for another five-year term. This reappointment means Marwa will lead the agency until 2031.

President Tinubu’s decision to reappoint Marwa is a vote of confidence in his efforts to rid the country of drug trafficking and abuse. The President urged Marwa to continue tracking down those involved in the illicit drug trade, particularly those targeting young people.

Marwa’s career spans several decades, with notable positions including Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse and military governor of Lagos and Borno States. He holds postgraduate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Harvard University.

Marwa’s reappointment is a testament to his leadership and expertise in tackling the complex issue of drug abuse and trafficking. With his renewed mandate, he is expected to continue driving the NDLEA’s efforts to combat the menace of illicit drugs in Nigeria.

As Marwa embarks on this new chapter, he faces the challenge of sustaining the momentum in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse. With his experience and expertise, he is well-equipped to lead the NDLEA in its mission to create a safer and healthier society for Nigerians.
