Borno Military Base Attack: 4 Soldiers Killed, 5 Injured

A devastating attack was launched by Boko Haram terrorists on a military base in Ngamdu, Borno State, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road. The attack, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and injuries to five others.

The terrorists employed Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), armed drones, and Improvised Explosive Devices, targeting troops and military platforms. Despite the intensity of the attack, the troops held their ground and repelled the attackers after a fierce gun battle.

The attack resulted in
– 4 soldiers killed in action
– 5 soldiers wounded in action
– Several Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles and Gun Trucks (GTs) sustained varying degrees of damage

 

The military responded swiftly, resupplying troops with critical logistics, including MRAP tyres and ammunition. Engineers also cleared multiple IEDs planted along the Ngamdu-Damaturu Main Supply Route.

The military has restored normalcy in the area, and the road has been reopened to both military and civilian movement. Credible intelligence suggests that the terrorists suffered heavy losses, with reports of about 15 bodies buried around Bula Wura, near Wasaram.
