WAEC Praises Ekiti State for Upgrading ICT Facilities in Schools

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has commended the Ekiti State Government for upgrading ICT facilities in its public schools. This development is in preparation for the transition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.

The Ekiti State Government has upgraded ICT facilities in its public schools to prepare students and teachers for the CBT format.
WAEC has praised the state government for its proactive efforts in preparing for the new system, which will improve examination integrity and provide a conducive environment for digital literacy.
WAEC plans to conduct sensitisation programmes across the three senatorial districts of Ekiti State to enlighten stakeholders on the new process.

The Ekiti State Government has reiterated its commitment to technological advancement in its schools. The Commissioner for Education, Olabimpe Aderiye, assured that all public secondary schools in the state have been equipped with laptops, which can be utilised in transitioning to computer-based WASSCE.

The upgrade of ICT facilities in Ekiti State’s public schools is a significant step towards preparing students and teachers for the CBT format. WAEC’s appreciation of the state government’s efforts is a testament to the importance of digital literacy in modern education.
