NAFDAC Warns Against Counterfeit Milk in Circulation
The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has raised an alarm over the presence of counterfeit Cowbell “Our Milk” 12g sachet milk in Nigeria. According to the agency, the counterfeit product bears a close resemblance to the genuine product, including unauthorized use of the brand name, packaging design, NAFDAC registration number, and trademark.
NAFDAC has provided distinguishing features between the genuine and counterfeit products. The genuine Cowbell milk has a creamy texture, revised PNG artwork “Our Creamy Goodness” packaging, laser-printed batch details, and automated sealing and cutting on the vertical sides. In contrast, the counterfeit product has a different texture, old PNG artwork “Our Milk” packaging, ink-printed batch details, and manual sealing and cutting.
The agency warns that consuming counterfeit Cowbell “Our Milk” poses serious health and safety risks. NAFDAC urges consumers to be vigilant and check the packaging and product details to ensure they are purchasing the genuine product.
