Rivers Angels Crowned Champions: A Victory for the State
The Rivers Angels Football Club has made history once again by retaining the President’s Federation Cup Women’s title. The team emerged victorious, beating Nasarawa Amazons 4-2 on penalties in the finals held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
This win marks the 10th time Rivers Angels has lifted the trophy, solidifying their position as a dominant force in women’s football.
The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), extended his warm congratulations to the team. Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibibia Worika, Ibas expressed his joy and pride over the team’s achievement.
In a show of appreciation for the team’s hard work and dedication, Ibas pledged a ₦50m reward for the players. This gesture is a testament to the state’s commitment to supporting and nurturing its sporting talent.
