A socio-political group known as VOLUNTEER YOUTH FOR CROSS RIVER STATE paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner for Information, Hon. Eramus Ekpang, earlier today in his office in Calabar.
The Director-General of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Ibok, while briefing the Honorable Commissioner, reiterated his support and commitment to the success of His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey EDET Otu’s People First Agenda for a better Cross River State. Without mincing words, he also narrated the significant need for the government of His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey EDET Otu to consolidate on the gains of our democracy by positively engaging the youth of the state.
He also elucidated that youth, especially those who are members of his team, possess technical and manual skills which, if engaged positively, can foster growth and development in the state. Some skills he mentioned include:

* Welders
* Electricians
* Bricklayers
* Iron Benders
* Painters and paint producers
The Commissioner, in response to the group, apprised them of the agreement reached at the State Executive Council meeting, which emphasized patronizing indigenous businesses and skills as a means of empowering the people.
The Commissioner also expressed his gratitude to the group for finding time to engage the ministry in critical discussions. He also appreciated the DG, Mr. Emmanuel Ibok, and his team for supporting the People’s First Agenda and the Season of Sweetness of His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey EDET OTU Administration.
